How long does equine rehabilitation take?

The length of an equine rehabilitation program depends on the injury. Tendon and ligament injuries may require several months of controlled therapy and conditioning, while muscle strains or minor injuries may recover more quickly.

What therapies help tendon injuries in horses?

Common therapies used in tendon rehabilitation include shockwave therapy, laser therapy, cryotherapy, PEMF therapy, and controlled conditioning using a water treadmill.

Is water treadmill therapy good for horses recovering from injury?

Yes. Water treadmill therapy allows horses to exercise with reduced concussion while improving circulation and muscle engagement during recovery.

Can a horse return to performance after rehabilitation?

Many horses successfully return to training and competition when rehabilitation is performed correctly and the injury is allowed sufficient time to heal.
